June 2024 Community Newsletter
Fireworks
If your celebration is going to include fireworks, please be sure to know what is legal or not and the best ways to handle them. Aerial fireworks are illegal to shoot off in Idaho, although you can purchase them legally in the state. Aerial fireworks have a risk of starting wildfires and causing injuries. We don’t want any accidents in the community, so please use extreme caution and follow these TIPS. Please also, clean up after yourselves. Even safe and sane fireworks can leave messes in yards and the street. Be sure to appropriately soak and dispose of any messes. Common areas may not be used to light off fireworks. Also, please be aware that neighbors and animals may not all like fireworks, so keep to reasonable timing. We greatly appreciate everyone’s consideration, and hope you have a very safe and enjoyable holiday!
Late Night Activities
It seems that the clubhouse and parks have become the place for teens to meet up late at night. There’s been a multitude of complaints regarding their activities, vandalism, and noise. Please make sure your kids are aware that the clubhouse and pools close at 10 pm. No exceptions. Also, the parks close at dusk. Violators will be reported to the police after hours.
Motorized Vehicles
Please keep motorized golf carts, scooters, dirt bikes, and the like off the common areas and sidewalks. Motorized vehicles should follow the rules of the road. Please report any dangerous drivers to the police.
Landscaping
We all know that this is the busy time of summer, but please be sure to continue weeding and addressing any dead or dying plants and trees in yards. Please remember sidewalks should have 8 feet of clearance for pedestrians, and streets should have 14 feet of clearance. Don’t let your plants block signs or corners. This is for safety. Our yards are part of the first impressions of the community, so please keep them up.
Pet Etiquette
Please remember to keep your pet(s) leashed when not on your property, as well as picked up after. We regularly hear about dogs charging others. There is a Meridian Leash Law for dogs, but cats are also a problem. Help keep our common areas clean by not leaving behind pet waste. There are plenty of bag dispensers. Please dispose of used bags in your own trash can or the trash cans at the pools.
Safety Concern
We’ve received pictures of kids climbing on the shade structures around the parks and pools. Please make sure your children understand that these arbors and shade structures are not meant for them to be on, and could be very dangerous if they were to fall.
